Les élèves poursuivent la collecte des mesures et se familiarisent avec le dosimètre proposé, soucieux d'obtenir de "bonnes mesures". Nous espérons collecter le plus rapidement possible les 303 mesures souhaitées et pouvoir ainsi les exploiter afin de répondre à la problématique énoncée dans le cadre du concours CGénial.

During this summer period, we analyze the measurements collected by the pupils. As it was said early, three hotspots were identified. Apart from these three hotspots, the measurements show that the dose rate in Kamarin is very similar to dose rates measured elsewhere in the word. For instance, the dose rate in my home, close to Paris, is about 0,06 µSv.h-1 and the outdoor dose rate is about 0.08 µSv.h-1, while in Kamarin, the mean indoor dose rate was 0.089 µSv.h-1 and... Finally, everything goes well... The measurements were stopped in the village of Kamaryn in late July. I collected all the measurements from the website: 634 measurements in the village, two hot spots identified, 17 kids involved in the measurements (8 girls and 9 boys), that's perfect! It is absolutely amazing the way the number of measurement is increasing. Today, there are more than 500 measurements in the village, and also outside the village, on the road, on the river, and in the field near de village. On of the pupills goes probably fishing with his father on the river, and since, we have some dots floating on the river. We are safe back home since Frinday evening and we are currently following the number of measurements appearing on the map. During these three days, it was Suprun and Igor who had the Openradiation kits in their hands. Moren than 80 measurements in three days! Yesterday we were in Kamaryn to meet the group of 17 children who accepted to participate. They all participate during the year in a scientific club dedicated to the study of radioactivity in their environment. We had an intense meeting, explaining the goals of our work and the way the openradiation system is working. So, they had to learn some french words, since the application in only in french... We are well arrived in Gomel city, after a long trip from France. On sunday, few measurements were made at home and several measurements were made yesterday during the trip. Unfortunately, we loose the GPS location during the flight when leaving France. Or perhaps du to the altitude of the plane, I don't know.
